Top 5 Fat Reducing Foods

By Travis Hunt

There is an old adage that says an excessive amount of everything or too little of something is harmful. This is true even when your goal would be to do away excess body fat. Unless you want to be thin but unhealthy, the body needs a balance of food intake for maximum performance.

Therefore, I won't tell you that specific food groups are better in burning fat. With the exception of fast foods (though this is technically not categorized as a food group), you should continue eating foods from each food group but choosing those that burns up fat faster than the rest within each group.

a) Protein enriched meats- The protein found in meats build muscles to utilize energy faster. Choose lean and white meat such as chicken breast and even lean pork for reduced fat. For excellent meat alternatives, opt for fish such as tuna and sardines that quicken your metabolism.

b) Milk and dairy- Abundant in calcium, this food group is not only just for kids. However, ditch the sweet milk. Go for skim milk instead that has reduced sugar to assist burn fat while still meeting your system's calcium requirements.

c) Carbohydrate enriched bread- Carbohydrates often receive bad publicity because of its association with fat build up, leaving many to forego this when dieting. However, this group has its share of fat reducing alternatives such as oatmeals and whole grain cereals which give you a full feeling with no added sugar.

d) Vitamin and Fiber enriched fruits and vegetables- Conversely, a lot of people have overemphasized the benefits of this food group. The fat burning capabilities of this food type are nodoubt, good. But having an excessive amount of them is not. retaining the freshness of the fruits and veggies and you're complementing them with the rest of the food groups. No more, no less.

e) Fat burning drinks- Foods which help you burn fat are not only what you chew but also whatever you drink. Water fuels your metabolic activities while green tea is also a great fat loss drink.

As you maysee, each food group has its own unique benefits. Concentrating on one deprives you of the advantages of the other. Using the right selections of food per food group, a well balanced meal is the best bet to lose that fat for a leaner, healthier body.
